Welding Gun Parts
PMR Fixers have been associated with the industry for over 20 years and have a vast knowledge of the studwelding process and its applications. When it was decided to expand into equipment hire, this knowledge was put to good use to find and develop a range of machines that would also fill our own very demanding needs.
We can now offer a comprehensive range of studwelding machines and equipment for hire. Our hire rates, being competitively priced, offer a very good value high quality product.
We manufacture a vast range of spare parts for welding guns, which have been adapted to cope with the high volume of studs that we fix.
Chuck: £POA
The one piece welding chuck benefits over the conventional sleeve in a number of ways:
- The stud seating is automatically set by the seating arrangement, therefore eliminating operator error and tendency for movement related to other methods of seating prone to creep.
- The unit weighs 50% less than its conventional equivalent, thus prolonging the life span of the lifting mechanism and gun coil, and reducing the impact to the gun’s damper upon plunging.
- The chuck is a single component, as opposed to the standard 3 piece assembly system. This is of major benefit, as less connections means the unit stays cooler and is more tolerant when working at high temperature related to rapid welding cycles.
- More cost effective than the 3-part system set up.
- 4 x 5 mm ventilation fins dissipate heat rapidly and eliminate weld splatter clogging.
- They can be manufactured in any requested size and connection thread pattern from 6mm pins up to 22mm shear studs.
Ceramic Isolator: £POA
Designed to replace and outperform the original part, our isolators are manufactured from Victrev Peek 450g, which has a tensile strength of 92mpa, Rockwell hardness of m99 and working temperature of 300°C. These properties enable direct threading, thus eliminating the use of brass threading inserts which expand and crack the amber outer shell on the original part. The isolators are threaded at m5x8. Do not over tighten in assembly, and we recommend securing the supplied cap screws with super glue or epoxy resin.
Chuck Extension Shaft: £POA
The chuck shafts are constructed in one piece of 303 A2 grade stainless steel. To a standard length of 92mm and diameter of 19.05mm, threaded internally and externally at ½” x 20 unf, incorporating 10mm adjustment spanner slots at a diameter of 17mm AF. In addition to the standard specification the shafts can be manufactured to any practical size and length for extended reach and restricted access welding.
Guide Bush: £POA
Machined from brass which is free running against bearing finished shafts and requires no lubrication and unlike its PTFE equivalent expands to temperature along with the shaft, thus preventing jamming. These brass guide bushes do not melt, are hard wearing, and have a serviceable lifespan that by far exceeds that of the PTFE ones.
They are manufactured to sit in a inner race of 21mm, however they can be machined to suit wear and tear and deviation, caused by operating the welding gun without a guide bush, and will correct the deviation thus putting the guns mechanism back into line.
Leg Extensions: £POA
Our leg extensions are manufactured from high grade solid 3/8 303 grade stainless steel. They have a length of 330mm, 110mm of this is slotted which gives full adjustment from 75mm to 175mm, thus eliminating the need to mill off unnecessary material off the legs, leaving the bar more stable in the guns’ leg barrels.
Connections are established by an external M8.125 thread, protected by dome nuts and provides a far more stable platform. In addition to these unique features each leg can be adjusted independently by means of the flange nut at the base, this enables the operator to stop any run out in the foot assemble. The legs have no socket cap screws to clog up and are not affected by rust.
Ferrule Grip: £POA
- Thru Deck
- Straight to Steel
